Exhibition - Daniel Granero

opening May 10 6 - 10 pm

on view May 10 - June 1, 2024

Daniel Granero is a multidisciplinary artist from Valencia, Spain. Since completing his artistic studies at Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos in 2000, Granero’s work has appeared in prominent exhibitions throughout Spain, and in London. As a lifelong archeology enthusiast, Granero is interested in painting as an ancient method for transmitting culture and knowledge that persists through the Digital Age. He often uses natural pigments and raw materials in his work as mediums for connecting with our earliest human ancestors, while simultaneously exploring contemporary themes.

This solo exhibition brings together paintings and found-art sculptures created over the past six years that Granero has lived in New Orleans. These current works demonstrate the city’s experience with erratic weather conditions, and the pulse, vibrancy, and cultural blending present in New Orleans’s neighborhoods.

Daniel also wants to dedicate the exhibition to the great Rose Mancini, for giving him hope again in the human being.
