Constellated - Goldie Sylvan

Goldie Sylvan was born in Louisville, Kentucky and studied at the University of Kentucky Hite Art Institute. She’s a Multi-Disciplinary visual artist with a focus in textiles, primarily machine and hand embroidery, and figurative rendering in paint and other media. As a maximalist Goldie’s work exemplifies the “more is more” approach as one layer becomes a surface for more layers until the mosaic of bits and pieces creates a whole. She serves the greater New Orleans Deaf community as an ASL interpreter; her “day job”.  She lives in Arabi, Louisiana surrounded by a gaggle of loving queers, her partners, Dietz and Lynn and her kiddo, Wally.
