Join us for "Nite Lite," an enchanting bioluminescent-themed art installation at Aquarium Gallery. Experience captivating light-based artworks created by Aquarium members and friends, all inspired by the mysteries of the sea. "Nite Lite" delves into the awe-inspiring wonders of the ocean, the darkest depths of our imagination, and our primordial fear of the dark. Special night opening for this glow-in-the-dark exhibition opens Sat Aug 10th, 8pm-11pm.

BIO:

Jaime Bird is a multidisciplinary artist, dedicated to creating spectacles of all varieties. From evil stingrays, animated sea monsters, bloodthirsty sharks, or anglerfish disco balls; Jaime is no stranger to crafting alluring, provocative creatures who manifest her innermost anxieties. Jaime received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009 from the University of Washington. She was the Exhibit Educator Intern at the Florida Aquarium after moving to Tampa. In 2013, she earned her Master of Fine Arts at the University of South Florida. Jaime has participated in residencies at The Arctic Circle, The Banff Centre, Atlantic Center for the Arts, OxBow School of Art, and Mass MoCa. Jaime lives in New Orleans and is currently the Technical Director at the Contemporary Arts Center. She is a longtime member of the Aquarium Gallery & Studios in the Bywater.
